Hi Guys,

I received my black 16GB iPhone 5 yesterday, and due to the proximity sensor being messed up I am getting a new one on wednesday. Do you know if you can take an unopened iphone into the apple store and swap the storage? if you pay the difference? So I am basically returning the phone and buying a new one. Has anyone had any experience of them doing this in the UK?

Kieran

Yes you can I have had this done before with the iPhone 4. They refund your purchase onto a gift card and you pay the difference.

Pretty sure they don't let you do that.

Edit - see above, I may be wrong but unless its a brand new replacement in retail packaging they may not.

My phone had been opened and it was possible. It needs to be within the 30 day return period.
