Swapping iPhones

I have an iPhone 3g and not upgrade eligible until October 28. My friend has the original iphone and is eligible to buy the 3gs. If he orders the new 3gs online, will we just be able to put each other sims in the iphones? He really doesn't want the new iPhone and he his content with my 3g while I want to 3gs. Does At&t not allow this or is it know big deal?

Yup

I just did the same thing. Just put my sim from my 3g in the 3gs and then her sim in my old 3g then her sim activated like 30 minutes later because I swapped the sims right after we left the apple store.

Make sure you call and cancel the data plan though, or you'll be stuck with $30 monthly fee for nothing.

Yes. Keep your dat plan, don't change anything. Only have to resync your iPhone 3gs from back up from your 3g if you want your contacts and everythig else back and what not
