Because is difficult to justify wearing an apple watch and another watch ( an automatic one for example) together...
I tried to convince me that this is a doable option, but every time I think how stupid is...
From a rational point having an automatic watch is very comfortable because it doesn't need charge and when the smart watch is discharged let you to know the hour rapidly... From a "fashion" point of view it doesn't sound good and look too nerd...
Maybe the "haute horologerie" brands will find a way to convince people wearing two watches at the same time ( smart watch+ analog)
Please share me what do you think

But not everyone wears a watch. And not everyone is interested in (or can afford) wearing an expensive timepiece. I think the audiences will be different. Or people that own both will sometimes wear a traditional watch and sometimes :apple:Watch depending on the occasion.

Sure... I think that in the near future we could afford expensive timepieces more... The Swiss industry is too snob to understand that changes are happening....
I agree with you that not everyone wear a watch nowadays...

I would not like to wear a smart watch on my wrist. It is just a distraction, we have a phone for all these things. But wearing a swiss timepiece is just another feeling and makes you a style symbol. Not everyone can afford a swiss made watch, they are most valuable and expensive watches.Watches like rolex adds a style status to your wardrobe.Who would like to wear a watch who does more of your smart phones job.It would just take that special look of swiss watch from you.I think i have to sell my rolex to get a smart watch, which would be bad for me.These smart watches have no competition with swiss watches. Both have their own class and standards.

Nice job resurrecting a dead thread.

But regardless now that it's been launched for a few weeks we can see people opinions changing. Some still have a both a dumbwatch and an AW. But many people mention having completely dumped their "nice" watches for the AW. This is exactly like the smartphone war. No one (outside of business) wanted a smartphone until Apple created the iPhone. Now you can't hardly buy a non-smartphone. I wouldn't be surprised if in 5-10 years the watches will be the same way.
No non-smartwatches will be popular and companies that refuse to adapt will die.
Rolex, Patek, etc have a decent chance of not existing in 10 years because they won't evolve.

Swatch Watch creator thinks Swiss watchmakers missing the boat?

On the same boat. I'll try this around the house this weekend just to give my mechanicals some semblance of wrist time. Will there come a time wearing a traditional watch one one arm and an on the other will be the norm? (Or at least acceptable)?

Actually, I came across an interesting advert in Bentley magazine the other day (I don't have a Bentley.. it was in my Drs. surgery).

It was a IWC advert focussing on a new motion tracking accessory, called IWC Connect

It looks like they are taking the approach of offering bands with the technology built in rather than compromising their core line of real product.

An interesting idea and it might, just, possibly, conceivably appeal to one or two owners but I suspect the ones that would want it might want more of an interactive device.
