Teliasonera has released some info for swedish costumers. There are 3 plans.

    Montly cost: x
    Free minutes: 100
    Free SMS: 100
    Free Data: 100MB
    Iphone cost: x

    Montly cost: y
    Free minutes: 250
    Free SMS: 250
    Free Data: 250MB
    Iphone cost: y

    Montly cost: z
    Free minutes: 1000
    Free SMS: 1000
    Free Data: 1000MB
    Iphone cost: z

All planes include free acces to telia wifi zones

x,y,z to be anonced on July 11.

Extra WEBSURF plan cost $1.5/day (if you use it), if you want to check email dl apps/music, connect the phone to a laptop (if possible) etc via 3G/EDGE/GPRS you pay $3.35 per MB with a cap of $11.5/day.

An iphone v1 does not sound so bad right now. Fu*k Telia.

Uppdate: To get a sense on how litte 100MB is, just to load www.aftonbladet.se uses up 2MB (with adblock installed)

thats stupid imho, and the plans sound very bad

thats rubbish, but similar data costs to us in the UK (although iPhone plans include unlimited data)

thats a very graphic website, many websites wont be that bad

It would have made more sense if you multiplied the amount of included data x10,
there's no good deal for those who want a fair amount of data but don't need 30 minutes of phone calls per day.
I think they intent to make money on data, and that way they can have a lower monthly fee.

Still hoping for a deal without contract, considering import.

I'm scared, I'm really scared right now.

Teliasonera is the same company which will release iphone 3g here in finland, and those plans are a real turn off for me. I would like a plan without any minutes or messages, only the data plan, with unlimited data!

I'm not an active talker on the phone, for me it's a mobile internet device with phone abilities. All my calls are somewhere along the lines "Hello, are you at home?" "Yeah, I am" "Good, I'll come for a visit in an hour" "Ok" and that's it, not really any need for other plans than data plan. As for messaging, when someone messages me I'll start replying with writing one or two words and then "**** it, I'll call back" (my attitude might change with the iphone, qwerty).

And as for the costs, teliasonera is by far the most expensive around here, 0,079e(0.124d)/min and 0,049e(0.077d) everytime you start a call, even if it lasts for only a millisecond. Data plans start at 14,9e(23.44d)/month, which is quite expensive.

Now, let's compare it to another provider, Saunalahti. 0,069e(0.109d)/min, no starting fee at all, data plans start at 9,8e(15.42d)/month. With my short calls I would double or triple my phone bills if I were teliasonera's customer.

Other companies have been telling me that they will get the iphone too, but no one could tell me when, and I am bad at waiting. But, if teliasonera does what it's best at, being expensive, I'll buy it without a contract. Or get it from elsewhere if I can't buy it without a contract.

Since some people actually need the other plans I made a comparison, 3000 minutes and 3000 messages (1000 messages from teliasonera since that's the largest package they have, which should be in favor)
Saunalahti: 39,95e(62,86d)/month (49,95e(78,59d) if you want a 1Mbit/s unlimited data plan)
teliasonera: 111,8e(175.9d)/month (131,6e(207,05d) if you want a 1Mbit/s unlimited data plan)

Actually these differences came as a surprise to me too, I knew there was a difference, but that much! I've been double and triple checking and they should be right. Oh, and saunalahti actually includes multimedia messages in the package, teliasonera doesn't..

If some of you are thinking you get what you pay for in coverage, then no, no you don't. Sure teliasonera might have a better coverage in here but for saunalahti to not work you'll have to travel deep, deep in to the forest until you get lost (we're talking about way too many kilometers), and chances are that teliasonera doesn't work either. I myself have yet to stumble upon a place where I've lost the connection, counting out bunkers etc.

ps. you don't pay anything for incoming calls around here.

iPhone in Sweden got raped, any plans?

As Suspected the subscription fees are ridiculously high, about 4 times more than my current rate plan and much less time to call for. So I'm thinking what are the options here? Can you terminate the subscription, pay the price and keep the phone. Telia Sonera got some other rates that is ok but not with the iPhone

    Here's the prices for anyone who hasn't seen them already;

    299 Kr/Month, 100 Minutes, 100 sms, 100 MB, iPhone 8GB 2495 Kr or 1695 Kr. iPhone 16 GB 3295 Kr or 2495

    489 Kr/Month, 250 Minutes, 250 sms, 250 MB, iPhone 8GB 1895 Kr or 995 Kr. iPhone 16 GB 2695 Kr or 1795

    859 Kr/Month, 1000 Minutes, 1000 sms, 1000 MB, iPhone 8GB 1395 Kr or 1 Kr. iPhone 16 GB 2195 Kr or 795

    To compare with other rate plans, in US Dollars;

    $50 /Month, 100 Minutes, 100 sms, 100 MB, iPhone 8GB $417 or $285.5, iPhone 16GB $551 or $417 Kr

    $82 /Month, 250 Minutes, 250 sms, 250 MB, iPhone 8GB $317 or $166, iPhone 16GB $450.5 or $300

    $143.5 /Month, 1000 Minutes, 1000 sms, 1000 MB, iPhone 8GB $233 or $1, iPhone 16GB $367 or $132

Lower price phones are locked to 24 month and the other 18.
    So after some math we get the total costs;

Lowest possible with 8Gb iPhone $1317 to highest possible 16GB $3811
Cheapest 16GB iPhone I can get for $1451 after 18 month.

What bugs me most is that they have other rate plans that suit me fine, but we're forced to choose prices from the dark ages. Kind of makes me think of what they paid apple to get the rights to sell the phone in the first place.

/Edit Someone got there before me

Will we have to get our phones "stolen" or what?

what really caught my eye on Telia's homepage is that they say that it will be possible to use a different plan together with the iPhone, and that they suggest that you sign up for their unlimited data plan to use together with said plans...
But when'll we be able to buy those iPhones? and at what cost....

God I hope I find a good solution...

I asked Telia in Nordstan Goteborg and they told me that you could take unlimited data for 199 on the top of your iMini but after you use your 100MB limit on cheapest plan you can NOT be charged more than 9 SEK a day for data. If you add this up its still cheaper than 199SEK extra for unlimited.

I've been thinking a lot about all of this, and I've come to this conclusion:
Since I don't call very much, the iMini seemed to suit me. BUT, the 100mb just won't cut it. So (as I mentioned in the Sweden Meetup thread) I've decided to sign up for Telias Mobil 99-plan and get unlimited data since I will be surfing quite a lot.

All in all, I'll have a monthly cost of 300sek (maybe slightly higher if I sms&call more than usual), and unlimited data. If I were to get iMini, I believe I'd use up the 100mb in a few days given that I have very good 3g coverage where I live- but let's say it takes me 10 days to use them up-, which would leave 20 days à 9sek- which means that my monthly cost may reach about 480sek...

The extra 1400kr that the iPhone will cost would be eaten up in about 7-8 months.

And that's why I'm not getting the iMini.

    any thoughts/suggestions?

What's included in that 99SEK plan? Any minutes or SMS??
  12. aka.gus macrumors newbie

With Telia Mobil 99, you get to call/sms for the 99kr you pay each month (which isn't the case with other telia plans)- each sms costs 69öre, and each call costs 79öre/min+ an "öppningsavgift" of 79öre per call. Very similar to my current plan- Comviq joker.

Edit: Btw, Telia also has Telia Mobil 199 and 299 plans which seem reasonable. But my head is starting to spin from comparing all these different plans...

69 øre? That's pretty much, I know it's Swedish krona, but in DK a sms is between 5-10 øre (Danish kroner) But yeeah you get unlimited data for 99. Mobile broadband really sucks in Denmark compared to Sweden.

I can never get over that "öppningsavgift". thats a total rip off. I live in Sweden quite some time and never stopped being amazed by that.

What I noticed is that Telia Mobil till Vänner is the lowest commitment
    69*18+3420=4662 SEK ~500€

That's ok, might also be an option if you want to unlock it and use it with another carrier.
  16. hyddan macrumors member

Yea, notice how unlocked versions in us and australia also comes down do about 4700 SEK (with a "later" sell date however) so that might be the lowest you can get.

The question is now, are you going to stand in line for the phone a few days ahead or wait three years for the second shipment? :)
