Swipe away notifications?

In 10.8 you were able to click on a pop up notification and drag it to the right to make the notification go away. This doesn't work in 10.9. Is there another way to do this?

works for me, I just did it to an itunes song notification with 3-finger drag. swiped it to the right and it went away as expected.

The swipe to dismiss/snooze functionality with notifications does not work for me either. This sucks considering I used that as a reminder to get back to certain emails when I didn't want to address them yet. Now if I leave them there is takes up screen real estate.

It works on banners but not alerts. Think that's intended...
