I also spoke to apple about this issue. And again, they said if enough people send feedback, they will do it..

With FaceID, after it scans your face, you then have to preform and extra step every time and "Swipe up" on the screen to get to the home screen. I've had just about every iphone and it was easier to get into the phone with the old thumbprint sensor, as you didn't have to move or swipe anything to get into the phone.

Apple need to add a toggle to give the flexibility to do this and you can go here and ask them to. If enough people ask, they will add a toggle and give us more flexibility.

Based on many existing threads about this kind of thing it's quite likely that a good amount of feedback about that has been submitted pretty much from the day that iPhone X was released, if not announced.

Uhhhh really? I just pick up my X and Xr and swipe up as soon as the screen wakes.

BOOM

I’m at the home screen. It’s not complicated at all. If I don’t swipe up, my notifications are unlocked for viewing and I can dismiss or reply directly from the lock screen.

Don’t make a mountain of a mole hill.

Not necessary just like the thread you started about the battery percentage. If your not satisfied with the interface on the new phones, go back to a phone with a home button like the 8/8+..
Well, to be fair, if you like most things but in your opinion things can be improved in some areas, seems like that shouldn't just mean that you shouldn't talk about it and just go and use something else.

I would love to have the option to not swipe to unlock. Much like with the touch to unlock on 8+, I wish it would just go to the home screen when it recognized my face. I also agree that battery percentage should always be visible. I have no need to check my cell strength unless I all of a sudden can't make a call. Give me the option to swap that out with battery.

I agree about the battery percentage.

Cool, see the thread here on battery percentage.

If a successful FaceID took you straight to the home screen, would a locked lock screen revert to showing the full notification (like text messages) that are currently hidden until the phone is unlocked?

If this was the case your phone would constantly be unlocking everytime it saw your face wether you want to or not. Could get quite annoying especially if face recognition gets better and can scan at all angles.

I agree with giving u weirdos who dont wanna lock screen a no swipe option, but I'lll keep mine set to swipe.

The only time my phone looks for me is when I turn it on, which means it would only unlock the phone when I chose to. Just like touchID.

I want to pick my iPhone X up and set it go directly to home screen after face recognition without swiping up, please!
