Does anyone know if the creators of SwirlyMMS have any intention of selling this app in the app store? I checked the site, and there's no mention of it.

I'm about 99% sure Apple isn't allowing any type of MMS app.. sucks!!

The only reason I can see why they wouldn't allow it is if they plan to add it themselves, or AT&T makes their own MMS app. Either way, it's really unfair business practice.

100% impossible based on the terms of the SDK. You'll have to jailbreak and wait for Swirly to update the app for 2.0.

While we're on the subject.. I too would really like to see Apple provide their own MMS solution. I can't think of a single reason why they couldn't do it, bar resources to get the ball rolling.

Can I suggest that everyone who wants MMS for iPhones tell Apple? Use this feedback page to let them know..
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

More encouragement for them can't hurt! And may just help to get us MMS support that much sooner.

If Apple was going to put MMS on the iPhone they would have already done it, it's incredibly trivial for them to implement. You can push pictures to MobileMe and then send people the gallery link, so they'll want to sell you that service. It's just as easy to use email, which the iPhone has a great email client for a phone, so they want you to use that service. I'm pretty sure that if we don't have MMS now, we're not going to ever have it. Which is perfectly fine with me, like I've said numerous times, I don't know a single person over the age of 13 that uses MMS.

Well, Im 36 and I use(d) it. Not a lot, granted. But it is useful for those times I do need it. But it's more for when people send them to me. Its a real chore having to login to a website then view any picts sent to me like that.
Email is all very well, but when it comes to doing things like sending picts mobile to mobile, im sure MMS must still be more popular than eMail for that.

You may not like MMS, but more choice and options cant be a bad thing.. For example, I couldn't care less about having a stock market widget/application on the iPhone. But im sure some folks appreciate it and find it useful. So I don't mind it being there..

The thing is, many of the people that do use MMS are in the 15-25 age range, and we seem to have a minimal amount of representation here on the forums. All of my friends (I'm 19) who have the iPhone wish there was MMS and Copy & Paste. If apple would just quit screwing around and add it already, it would make a lot of people happy.

yeah, regardless of who actually uses it, it's stupid not to have it.
