i have been trying to research a not too terribly expensive way to use my dual 23" monitors connected to my mac pro with my new 2014 macbook pro. these are samsung monitors, only dvi & vga. i do not want to use vga due to photo editing & would like to be able to possibly switch between systems since both will be at my studio .

i would not like to have to buy new monitors just to get a dual setup for the macbook.

any suggestions appreciated. i was not sure about splitter cables, but i know about matrox & a few other devices, but again, not sure what would be the better solution.

thanks all :)

You want a dual DVI KVM switch. It will let you plug both monitors and switch between computers. This only requires a single keyboard and mouse.

Note: For this configuration I recommend a wired keyboard. Bluetooth keyboards must pair and unpair with each Mac and it is a shabby process of disconnect/reconnect!
