Switch from verizon to att

Me, my sister, and my mom are all on a family plan with verizon. My dad just bought us all iPhone 3gs's an we are switching our numbers to AT&T. So I expect the phones to arrive tomorrow, but my sister is at college an we'll have to reship hers to her. If me and my mom activate our iPhones before my sister even has hers in her hands, will this deactivate the whole family plan we have with verizon and thus she won't have a working phone until the iPhone arrives?

in short no. Your sisters plan will become an individual plan intil she ports over

If you port all numbers from verizon to AT&T then her verizon phone will deactivate when you all start a family plan with AT&T.
