I have a company issued Lenovo Thinkpad laptop that is mostly linked to 24” monitors with a Logitech keyboard and mouse.

I have never really enjoyed the typing experience of the Lenovo or Logitech keyboards and much prefer the way my MBP (2011) and AMK for iPP feel.

I am now considering swapping out the Logitech for the new Apple Magic Keyboard and Trackpad 2, to use with both my Lenovo and iPad Pro

My question is; How easily can I switch this keyboard/trackpad between the laptop and iPP?

I hope this all makes sense?!!

TIA

I have the Trackpad 2, an iPad Pro, and a Dell XPS13 laptop. Switching is not simple - you have to forget the Trackpad 2 on the iPad to make is discoverable and connectable on the the laptop where you have to then connect to it under Bluetooth controls. You have do the same in reverse to move back to the iPad. I also use a Logitcech MX Master 3 mouse where the same switching is done with a simple one button push (button is on the bottom of the mouse); switching is fast and seamless. As a result, my Trackpad 2 is dedicated to the iPad and never used on the laptop but I often switch to the mouse between devices. I believe the keyboard is the same - but again I use a Logitech K380 keyboard with a simple one keystroke swap.

I switch my Magic Trackpad 2 between my Mac Mini and iPP. It's not easy. As the above poster said, you have to forget it from each device so that it can be connected to the other device.

I don't have to forget to use between my iPad, MacBook, or iPhone. You just disconnect and reconnect between the devices. My issue is I can't get the trackpad to do anything other than left click on my Windows computer for work

I also use the magic keyboard with 2 devices: my MacBook and a windows PC. A neat trick I found is to pair it to one device using Bluetooth and connect it to the second with a cable. Once the device is connected through a cable (to my pc) the cabled connection take priority and the Pc is connected to the keyboard. When IO disconnect the cable from the keyboard it automatically "looks" for the bluetooth connection and connects to my Mac.
