i had a blackberry bold 9700 since December without and data plan, im perfectly fine without it until AT&T caught me without one a few days ago, so they automatically added a data plan into my account. i called them and canceled my data plan by switching to a dumbphone.i am planning to sell my blackberry and get an iphone. problem is that, will att catch me without one and automatically add a data plan into my account? or can i just jail break/unlock the phone and install something that disable something from att reading that its an iphone?
i know this had been answered many times but when i searched for it on google the articles were from 2008-2009. i want to know if i can as of now.

I havent tried this myself but have had a couple people tell me that they told AT&T to take a flying leap! they said that they did not buy the iPhone from them and could not be forced to have the data plan. they use wifi. and both say they are having no problems. they cannot ad anything with your approval! but I think if you buy the iPhone from them then can make you have it. but I know people are buying them and cancelling the data the next day and selling the iPhones but that is a little different.

is there a app or w.e that could block att from reading it? after i jailbreak it of course
