How do the two compare?

Both offer similar protection but in different ways. The phone feels tightly secured in the rebel skeleton but for some reason feels a bit slippery in the hand, so thats the drawback along with rocking back and forth when you lay it on a table. The trim also offers great protection and well designed with the port covers also matching the trim pattern. As others have mentioned, the edges are sharp and cause the case to feel uncomfortable in the hand.I dont know if it was more prevalent int he white case, or if i just got used to holding it, but it does not feel as uncomfortable anymore and you grow to love the case. What it comes down to is price and style. The trim is only $20 and offers the same accessories as the rebel, while being cheaper. If you desire a much more unique style, then go for the rebel.

Ordered a black yesterday so it'll probably come in today. As nice as it looks, I almost never go white with matte-finished cases because of the eventual discoloration issues.

agree...just never had a white case and decided it was finally time...although this finish is more of a gloss finish than matte.

Yeah, I imagine the Trim should be fine because it's glossy. I like the back of the white Trim because of how much more of the phone you see too.
