people who use the 11' Macbook Air as their main home machine miss the point...

Macbook Air 11' is perfect for work and travelling....for your home you need a desktop machine like a mini with big Display or iMac.

Well, my whole point was using an MBA for desktop work at your school or workplace. The 13' is the perfect comprimise for size and portability IMO. Again, it all depends on your needs. If your gonna take your MBA with you to school or work every day, in the long run you will probably be more happy with the 13'.

Forgive me if I'm feeding the troll, but there's no "novelty" to the 11" MBA. It's a serious machine with serious capabilities. I've had an 11" since early 2011, and ordered a fully-speced 11" this summer. I had the chance to move to a 13" "ultimate," but I realized what many other 11" owners have expressed: Once you are accustomed to the extreme portability and the form factor, it's hard to give up the 11" MBA.

I know there are a number of MF users who have purchased both ... would that I could! Absent that convenience, I'll always opt for the 11" machine. It hits the sweet spot in so many respects, and it's hard to dismiss as a "novelty."

Sold the 11", kept my 13"

Few months later I bought another 11" ;)

It's easier to just have one laptop, I like the space of the 13" but I like the smallness of the 11". One day I will go down to just one machine...
