I'm thinking about switching my 4S for a Galaxy S3. I used iMessage a lot and think I'll miss it. Switchers, have you missed iMessage at all?

    Not at all.

I found iMessage a pain to use. With messages not sending or not receiving some. In the end I switched it off on my iPhone.

I use whatsapp every single day and have used it across Android, Blackberry and iOS. I've never had any trouble with it and don't have to use it exclusively with iOS users.

There are other messaging options out there so I think iMessage shouldn't be the only reason holding you back.

Aside from free texting what do you like about it or think you'll miss?

I use it but I have unlimited text, just sometimes it feels a bit quicker to send via wifi then cellular...

Yes I miss it for my free international texting with my family but I still have my iPad 3 and my Mac running ML which have iMessage which lets me text to them.

I miss it a little cause of friends I text globally. iMessage was very useful for this, and couldn't be integrated any better. I still have it at home on my iPad and MBP, so I'm not totally missing out. So now I usually try to text people globally via Skype or IM when out with my phone. I tried Whatsapp but only about 3 people I know use it.

I did at first but Mighty Text for Android works just as good if you want to send text messages on ANY computer that has a browser and not have to be on a Mac running Mountain Lion.

Nope. Plenty of [better] alternatives out there. Whatsapp, Kik, so many more...

    Don't miss it a bit.

I still have it on my iPad but never really use it.

I don't miss BBM, er I mean that stolen idea from RIM, I mean iMessenger. ;) hell, the stock Samsung SMS app works better than iMessenger.

No freakin way, and this is why:

    1. iMessage is unreliable. You can't expect servers that handle all of iCloud to handle messaging 100% as well
    2. Whatsapp has more users for me than iMessage. Why lock yourself to iPhone users when you can have anybody on any phone install Whatsapp? Lots of people have it now anyway
    3. I have unlimited texting, so I don't have much of a use for Whatsapp or iMessage except for people outside the country.
