Hello, is anyone thinking of moving from T-Mobile to another provider in the US, since their AutoPay discount for anyone using credit cards is being cancelled.

Granted I use my credit card for everything, paranoia at its best, no company has auto payment directly from my checking account. For T-Mobile being a constant target for data breaches...yeah I don't think so.

I'm shopping around at it seems Verizon might be a good choice am paying $120 at T-Mobile for 2 lines and 1 tablet...Verizon will be $110 just for 2 lines.

I switched to google fi earlier this year. It's still t-mobile ultimately, but a fair bit cheaper.

I have never used Autopay and I've been with T-Mobile since September 2015.

MY paranoia is leaving any CC/DC/Bank account credentials on websites I don't have to. I simply login when I am ready to pay, give the system my debit card details (which I have memorized) and make sure the box to save it is unchecked.

Once you give authorization to withdraw funds you are at the mercy of the company you gave it to. I've seen T-Mob customers on the T-Mobile subreddit complaining about how T-Mobile took their money too early and I'm not going to be in that spot. They get paid when I am ready to pay them - not on their schedule.

AT&T is reducing their auto pay discount of 10 dollars per line to 5 dollars if you do not use a debit card. I think Verizon now requires debit card to get auto pay discount as well.

Yes, all of the postpaid carriers require a debit card now for the maximum autopay discount. Verizon makes an exception if you use their Verizon Visa, issued by Synchrony Bank, which is an awful bank.

I just opened up a T-Mobile money checking account and linked that to my TM plan and I cut myself a check each month from my main account to fund the TM Money account. If some thief gains access to my TM Money account, they're going to be very disappointed.

T-Mobile allows auto pay from checking. I switched to keep my discount.

I just moved to T-Mobile and am thinking of doing the same thing with the money account.

Does your credit card issuer also offer checking account? On my AMEX, I opened the checking account for paying T-mobile and Xfinity services to maximize the autopay discount.

You just have to ask for the credit each month I have 5 lines with T-Mobile for around $130 a month and without autopay it’s $155 I just call and ask for a credit and they gave me one. I usually link the cheapest card I have which is Apple Card but now they require a debit or bank info which I don’t feel safe. So for now each month I just ask for a credit.

I didn’t think to do that, and I’ve had my T-Mobile Money Checking account for a few years and opened a Savings Account last year. I just switched my checking account to the T-Mobile Money account. Thanks for the tip.
