Switching Carrier on iPhone 3G...

Although still quite a bit of time to go, I was wondering if after my 2 year contract with AT&T I can bring my phone and use any other carrier?
Is there something a hardware lock that prevents this from happening? 😱

I'm happy with my iPhone 3G, but simply AT&T is not very competitive
in their plans!

No they won't unlock it. Also T-mobile would be the only other carrier you could use it on and with T-mobile it wouldn't be able to use 3G.

So it is not a 2 year contract, but a life time one! 😡
