Has anyone successfully made the switch from AT&T to Verizon on the iPhone upgrade plan?

I have 2 phones on it (iPhone X) and need to switch to Verizon as it has better coverage in my area.

Anyone? How did the process work?

Well if you could let me know how the process works since it involves getting a different phone :) IUP specifically....

I’ve heard rumors of what they allegedly do but looking for someone who’s done it!

You go into the store and let them know you want to switch carriers and if they have the iPhones in stock they will return the ones you bought and re sell you the Verizon models anything you have already paid will be refunded and re done with the Verizon phones. Your issue is going to be if they have iPhones

Since the longest you have had them would be a week I would just return them to at&t then go to verizon. And get new ones. If not you'll have to pay the x's off then take them to verizon.
That's not the way it works. Apple has agreed to swap them out if you are switching carriers and the phone is not compatible.

No, both are on the iPhone Upgrade Program.

So basically so far each morning all the apple stores in my area have had them in stock. Would I be best to just show up early when they open or is there any way to reserve them for pickup and then do transaction once there? My experience so far has just been that many of the Apple employees/online support have no idea how to do the switch since it involves loans etc.

I was told by the Apple store employee that the X and 8’s dont have the same chip issues as the 7s had. Their chips should be compatible with both carriers.

Per the Verizon website, my X shows it’s not compatible.

Incorrect. Same chip situation as with the 7's, need new phones. OP, your issue is going to be stock of phones, you can get lucky in store, but need a Verizon account right now to reserve online.

I plan to go to the Apple store to ask about switching. I know that nearby stores have had stock each morning when I’ve looked. I just hope they’ll be able to assist me in switching fairly easily since that’s part of the deal with the IUP (being able to go to any carrier). Not sure how I’d get a Verizon acct when I have no phones to attach with it yet?

You get a 14 day return policy from Apple Store. You definitely want to return because the most you will get from Verizon to swap out your gear is $650 per phone and that requires you to buy a new phone from Verizon.

I am on the iPhone Upgrade Plan
