E elpee macrumors newbie Original poster Nov 22, 2009 #1 Hi all, Is there a way to switch between imac screen and the external monitor I hooked up? I imagined a tool resides on the menu bar that lets you quickly enable 2 screens and back to one will be handy. Wondering if such tool exists? Thanks.

spinnerlys Guest Nov 22, 2009 #2 You mean re-creating the effect of plugging in and pulling the display adapter from the iMac? Can you give a more specific description? You can move the Menu Bar from the iMac's display to the external display via System Preferences > Displays > Arrangement.

Yup, exactly, and if possible to also have the option of only using the imac screen while the external is still plugged in but switched off.
