Anyone else considering going from a 15 pro max to the 16 pro? I've been on the max phones for at least the last two generations and can't decide if I'll be ok with the regular size screen. Media wise I scroll instagram from time to time but like 10-15 mins a day max. I use twitter a bit, but rarely use my phone for video consumption.

It will be nice not having a giant brick in my pocket, and all modern iphone battery life is plenty for my usage, plus the max phone is more expensive. Anyone facing a similar dilemma?

I thought about the same switch, but decided against it since I use my phone more than any other device for consuming media. Add on the fact that I have clumsy fingers for typing… I just figured I would regret the switch from the max.

It’s a tempting decision for sure.

I have a 15 pro max and looking at the 16 pro 6.3”.

But then I looked at the price difference between pro and pro max 256 and 512 gb for example, it’s only $100.

So now I’m leaning towards a pro max 16.

Now if you only need 128 gb, the iPhone 16 pro is best bang for the buck. And just use google photos cloud or iCloud for additional backup

I'd like to downsize from my 15PM but wasn't really impressed with the features...so I'll wait. I was even considering a base model 16, because the Pro's really don't have much to upsell me on (120hz is the headline feature that Apple continues to withhold from their $800 phone.)

Thinking of doing the same honestly. Afraid of regretting it, but I like the idea of a less bulky phone and I like the way the wallet fits. I figured since the screen is now 6.3”, it might be easier to adjust than when it was 6.1”. I have an 11” iPP, so I’ll do most media consumption on that. I also plan on getting natural titanium rather than black like I always have. Last time I had something other than Space Gray/Black was the iPhone 4S lol

When the first large iPhone was announced, the 6 Plus, I was upset because the better camera features were only on the Plus size, and I didn't want a large phone; I liked single handed use, etc.

But, I decided to take advantage of Apple's two week return policy and got the Plus as a test. If I didn't adapt to it within a week or two, I'd swap it for the non-Plus size.

Took me about 3 days to get used to the larger phone and I've never looked back. For me, the larger real estate makes reading through my emails, texts, slack messages, web pages, etc, so much more convenient. Not something I'm willing to compromise on any more.

i’ll be getting the regular pro size. the 15 PM is already so unwieldy that the minimal increase in size is enough to push it over the edge.

also i feel like no one’s really thinking this through but i can’t imagine using the 16 PM one handed to take photos and be able to use the camera control button easily.

I always gotten the normal Pro’s, except for the 15 PM, just because of the camera features. The biggest surprise to me was how much longer the battery lasts compared to the smaller Pro model. Tempted to go back to the smaller model this cycle, but it sure is nice having all that extra battery. Also - used no case with the 15 PM, which did make a difference in making seem a little smaller.

The battery boost is definitely noticeable on the PM. I wish they would work to shrink the difference, but I guess this is just another selling point.

I'd had the plus/max phones from the 6 to 13, but went for the smaller Pro for the 14 and really enjoyed it. Went back to the max for the 15 as i wanted the 5 times zoom more than the smaller size, but as there's feature parity again I'll be going to the 16 pro again this year.
That bit of extra batter life never seems to be an issue for me and the screen's a bit bigger on the pro this year, so less difference to the 15 max (that said the increase is in the height really and i do find the width more of a constraint for me). For media consumption at home i have my iPad pro, so the phone becomes more about pocket-ability. If i were a one device person, then yeah the max would be the way to go.

I went from a 6s to 8 Plus, thinking I would like the larger screen. I had that phone for two years and never got used to the size. Went back to the regular models and have been happy since.

I also thought about doing a smaller phone but am unwilling to give up the large screen and keyboard! Will go with the 16 ProMax

I am downgrading from 15 PM to 16 Pro.

Main seller for the 15 PM was the 5x optical zoom, the larger screen was a small plus, but additional weight not so appreciated.

Since 16 Pro includes the 5x optical zoom, and plus slightly larger screen but still lighter, 16 Pro is way to go for me.

Looking forward to it this Friday!

Reposting my post from another thread since it's super relevant here :)

Xs Max -> 11 Pro Max -> 12 Pro Max -> 13 Pro Max -> 14 Pro Max -> 15 Pro Max -> 16 Pro

I think they've finally lost me with the dimension increases of the Pro Max. If the smaller Pro didn't have feature parity with its larger sibling then I still probably would've gone larger, but luckily they have the same features (other than battery life and screen size) this year. The 15 Pro Max was already so large and unwieldy and they've made it even bigger.

I'm on iUP so if I really don't like it I can just switch back next year. I think the smaller size will be refreshing, though. We'll see!

yea according to the reviews the max does feel even bigger this year. I'm sure that screen is killer, but I'm done, got a 16 pro coming tomorrow :)

I've seen a lot of people saying the Pro Max doesn't feel any different this year! And I'm looking at it wondering how.

I owned the iPhone X and it was the perfect size in the hand, so I'm excited that the 16 Pro will be an extremely similar size with a dramatically better feature set.

Because it's just a little taller?

15 Pro Max was physically shrunk compared to the 12-14 series so the 16 Pro Max might feel bigger in comparison, but for those who are upgrading from 11/12/13/14 Pro Max the width is the same and it's just a tenth of an inch taller while being lighter. So it's a great upgrade!

With that being said, the $999 Pro at 6.3" and having the same hardware features and (hopefully) noticeable battery life improvements is a great bargain especially if you don't need more than 128GB. It's plenty "big" in size while being a lot more pocketable. Same width and a little taller than 11/12/13/14 Pro.
