I am in an interesting predicament. A little less than two months ago I wanted a larger iPhone so I went from my iPhone 6S to an iPhone 13 Pro Max. I did not need any of the features that come with the Pro model, but I wanted the bigger Max display.

Shortly after getting that larger iPhone I purchased an iPad Mini. I ended up really loving the iPad Mini and taking it with me everywhere. Because I have the Mini with a bigger display, I’m starting to regret buying such a big iPhone. It’s very large and heavy and now that it’s becoming warmer and I wear a T-shirt most of the time, the large and heavy phone is tugging down on my shirt since I keep it in my shirt pocket.

I’m thinking that an iPhone 13 Mini would have been the better option now that I have the iPad Mini with the big display to use. The Pro Max is like a brick. But the 13 Mini is similar in size to my 6S but has a bigger display, which would be great for me.

So I’m wondering what options I have to get rid of my 13 Pro Max and get a new 13 Mini?

Sell it on swappa or eBay or in person on Craigslist (at a public place).
I agree that a Max iPhone and a mini iPad are not the best combo.

The recent Max phones do weigh a ton compared to the Plus phones of yesteryear.

You could either trade your PM in for a Mini and credit at an Apple store or sell your PM outright in an online auction or in person on Facebook Marketplace / Craigslist.

I would go with the private sale as your PM should look “as new” and in perfect condition if it’s only 2 months old therefore you shouldn’t lose too much by selling it.

I will see if there’s any interest on Facebook marketplace. One other consideration I forgot about is the fact that I would have to pay it off completely through AT&T before being able to sell it to someone else.
Thanks for the help everyone.

Where/how did you get the iPhone 13 Pro Max? Apple? Carrier? Is it paid off, or could it still be locked to your carrier until it is? Did you get it with any promos/offers that come in monthly installments? If so, you may miss out on that deal by paying off early.

Lots of questions, but all good things to keep in mind.

Yes, after considering all of this I realize that with the promotions I got and the financing of this new phone it would not work out well to trade it. So I will just keep it and be happy. But at least now I won’t always wonder if I should trade it, and I thank everyone for helping with this.

I tried the same setup as I’m an iPad Mini lover but the Mini 6 screen and UI is just so bad I couldn’t do it. Things were either too small or too big and I was hypersensitive to the jelly scroll. Had to sell it since I purchased it since release.

iPhone 13 Mini was great but with no iPad it forced me to get something bigger so I got the 13 PM. Yeah it’s far too big so might get the 6.1” Pro instead because I do enjoy the ProMotion but the problem with the Mini is they’re no longer going to make it so eventually you will have to pick a size 6.1/6.7”.

The thing about the Mini is that it’s still just as thick as the Pro Max, and it still has that obnoxious camera bump.

All things considered, I’m just going to keep the Pro Max. It’s easier to carry than the iPad mini so it will be good having it.

I’d go 13 or 13 pro for sure. I have mini and max and can tell you the mini has many issues such as lame batter, doesn’t scale pages properly, not as fast (not even close) …. So while the idea seems great, the reality is not that great IMO

Not so fast?

Mini and 13 are the same phone, so 13 is “not that fast” too.

13 and Pro have the same CPU with differences so marginal (1 core and greater ram, from 4 to 6 if I remember correctly) that they are in fact the same product, so much so that probably of the 14 will be updated only in Pro version.

For the rest of the problems I don't know, if you can say how it can't scale the pages well (I think until a month ago I used an SE 2016 and it's amazing to say he scaled well the properly programmed pages, like the 5s, 4S and the 3GS did) personally you do me a favor.

Isn’t that the usual problem that “the bigger the better”?

I've tried a 13 mini before settling on my 13pm. What annoys me about the 13 Mini when I had it, was the battery draining issues. On idle, even with background apps closed, it would drain for whatever reason. I've also tried the new SE and it doesn't have that issue.

My 13 mini doesn’t have drain issues on standby. You must have been unfortunate and had some sort of issue.

13 Mini here. No battery draining on idle.

13 Mini also here. Yes, not as good as the 13 I had before, but enough for a normal day use for sure.

It was fine for the first few days and then I notice it draining unexpectedly on standby. Don't know, could be my cell signal, wifi, or a rogue app. Toggling low power mode on did make it stop.

On every new iPhone and new iOS version there are some users experiencing this. It’s probably some kind of nondeterministic hiccup in Apple’s background services.

right the 13 is not as fast... all 13 non pro models. noticeably so... to be anyway lol
for the scale issue not sure, just seems on outlook it seem for example to cut the delete button or on certain web pages which is not a huge deal, just annoying.
