Currently have an iPhone SE second gen which uses a nano sim.

considering buying an iPhone 14 which only uses Esims.

How do I get or convert to an esim while I’m still using the iPhone SE?

I want to keep the same phone number on the 14 with an e sim.

Details please.

Thanks.

Contact your carrier, they will be able to provide the best options for your need to keep your existing number.

As @hg.wells said, it is best to contact your carrier for details about how the transition would occur as it is possible that some details are carrier-dependent rather than Apple dependent.

Switching from a 13 mini to a 14 PM the phone itself asked if I wanted to convert my physical sim to an e-sim. I clicked “yes” and the conversion to e-sim was done. It took about a minute or so to convert it. I’m on t-mobile.
