I'm looking to install Google WiFi but I'm unsure how this would affect my current network connections and use of Time Capsule which I want to continue using as a back-up but not as a router.

For example, my Time Capsule has connections to other hardware such as my printer, external HD, and an ethernet switch.

If I change to Google WiFi can I connect the Time Capsule to it and continue with the setup as is?

Thanks for your help.

From what I understand, Google WiFi works similarly to any other home networking system, it just deploys as multiple access points to eliminate dead zones. Your devices should still appear to be on the same network.

Thanks Darmok.

If it's as simple as connecting the Time Capsule to the Google router I'll be happy.

Not quite that simple. TC is a router by default, you don't want 2 routers.

Go into Airport Utility and edit the Time Capsule. Make sure Router Mode is set to Off (Bridged Mode) on the network tab. If you don't want the TC to prove WiFi, set Network Mode to Off on the Wireless tab. Update, and when it is rebooting, connect an Ethernet cable from WAN on TC to a LAN port on your new router.

Didn't think it would be quite as simple as I'd hoped.

Many thanks.
[doublepost=1517758236][/doublepost]Just acessed the network tab but it is not allowing me to select the router mode tab. It's greyed out and I don't know how to enable it.

I've worked out why I cannot access this menu.

On the Internet tab I have selected Connect Using: PPPoE

Changing this to Static or DHCP allows access to the Router Mode field.
