I'm currently debating upon switching from a 21.5" iMac to a new 27" iMac. But the problem is, I have everything on my current iMac, and I need to get it to my new one if I were to buy it. I'd be selling my current iMac to put the money towards the 27". Is there a way to transfer all my data from my current Mac to my new one? That's the only thing that's really holding me back from going through with this.

Time Machine with an external drive

Use the Migration Assistant, simple and does everything. When i do Mac to Mac data transfers for people that is what i use, all automated

You could do a backup with CCC (Carbon Clone Copy)
and after you backup and do it again with an external enclosure to transfer to the new iMac
