Hey all;
My friend is giving me her iPhone 3gs, because she is moving out of the country. I will be adopting the phone, along with her phone number. I already have an iPod touch and an iPad 2. My question is this:
Can I move all my iPad/iPod data over to her iphone, and delete all her stuff (apps, photos, numbers), and then transfer my apps and phone book to the iPhone?
I am worried about restoring the phone from my iPod backup, and wonder if the mobile provider wont recognize the phone, or that I may corrupt the SIM or phone number.
Lemme know, thanks!

You’re not going to affect the sim or corrupt anything. Most of the stuff you mentioned is synced (or should be synced….or example, phone numbers can be synced from Address Book, etc.). App “data” comes from the backup, so restoring from the Touch backup should being that over. I’ve never done this, so YMMV, but see this:
