I own a mid-2007 generation of the black Macbook. I know the computer has been discontinued, but up until 2009 updates with better processors and graphics were released. My model has the faulty Intel GMA 950, which after all these years is finally starting to affect the computer's performance. My question is, since the external casing remained the same throughout the generational updates (at least I'm assuming as much) could I buy a logic board for a later model and have a tech install it on my mid-2007 one? Would it work? Or are the internal components of the mid-2007 model the only ones that would fit/are compatible with the mid-2007 casing?

I ask because I love this computer and, despite having moved on to an Air, I still use the Macbook regularly and would like to update the interior, if at all possible, and extend the life of the computer for as long as I can.

Thanks. I knew it was a pipe dream but worth a shot asking anyway.
