It took forever, but I finally convinced my parents to let me switch to Android. What are some fun last things to do with my iPhone 7 before it gets passed down to my sister? I need to wait till Cyber Monday to make the purchase, and then I need to wait for it to arrive at my house.

I might be a voice out of the crowd, I switched to Mac back in 2000 and never really looked back (use win for some work but as little as i have to) then it was iPhone since the 3g.... later 2016 I switched to Android, and really feel the difference is quite small.

Windows is still years behind (even if Win 10 is quite good) compared to OS X, Android to me is practically on par with iOS, different flavouir of the same thing, I can go back and forward with very little adjustment.... wich speaks volume about how well Android runs lately.

For me there is no "fun last thing" you can do on your iPhone as there won't be any "new fun things to do" in the newe Android Phone.

I guess it really depends on where you post this question... on an Android forum, I was told to “smash it and pledge allegiance to the almighty Android.” And as much as I’d like to do that, I think this forum will give me some more legitimate answers.

of you haven't figured out fun things to do with it by now, you are unlikely to suddenly notice something over the last weekend.

That’s kind of why I asked the Internet for help lol
I just Updated to iOS 11 and I hate it very much. It introduces very few new features, makes the interface annoying to use, and drains battery life about 10 times faster. I don’t get why anybody use an iPhone updated to iOS 11 and I hate it very much. It introduces very few new features, makes the interface annoying to use, and drains battery life about 10 times faster. Maybe there is something special about iOS 11 that I have not yet noticed.

Look you've already convinced yourself that Android is going to be better so now all your going to do is look down and bash iOS. The grass always seems greener on the other side and to each there own. Go over to XDA Developers and get with that crowed it will be your new home for finding solutions to your Android problems. Good luck and enjoy your new device and be sure to check what the return policy is..

Can't offer advice on your question but good luck with the new phone. I use a mix of Apple & Android devices; my current phone is a Galaxy S7 Edge and I think it's great.

Your parents forced you to use an iPhone?

It's still a fantastic camera. Can you keep it around for video and pictures? (Also, it has great game apps...)

Both iOS and Android are equally good and equally pathetic. You can go for Pixel or One Plus 5T as they have better update schedule. Samsung manufactures turdy phones which gets even more smelly after 6 months. As if their phones have some sort of kill switch which flips after 6 months of use.

Say goodbye to new software uptades.

More like say goodbye to new software updates that slow down your phone. :)

(sorry, couldn't help it :).

I recently switched from IOS to Android. Bought a Galaxy S8+. The first week was not easy, took me a while to get used to it. But now the phone seems stable, fast and ...damn, the most beautiful phone I've ever seen.

But I'm not abandoning Apple yet. Still have an iPad and a Macbook Pro that I love.

No idea what you're talking about. My last 4 phones have been Samsung and worked great.

Was totally on board until "Windows is still years behind" LOL

You can enjoy your iPhone 7 by downloading movies with a torrent app, using PiP and split-view, change the look of your home screen, replace your microSD card for a bigger one, and listen to it with a 3.5 mm headphones with no dongle. Oh wait... ;-P

What Android phone are you getting? That’s kind of significant and will greatly affect your Android experience.

Except many Android phones are now removing the headphone jack and SD slots. Your other points are very valid though.

As far as I'm aware all the major android flagships still have a headphone jack?
The Pixel 2 doesn’t and I’m sure others are going to start following their footsteps, though I hope they don’t. There are some Apple trends I don’t think should be followed.

Interesting, I'd missed that - but yeah it's a pretty crappy move tbh, especially outside of apple's heavily controlled ecosystem.

Some dude who works at Polly's Pie restaurant thought my G5 was the Nexus 6P. He even asked me about it because he was thinking of switching. He said the only thing that keeps him from leaving iOS is iMessages. Nothing else.

Both platforms generally do the same things and what most users essentially want to do is run apps. I can't come up with anything fun to do with an iPhone. It's like trying to drive fast in a gated community with speed bumps.

XZ1 Compact > iPhone 8 (except in front camera)

Hate glass rears. Need 3.5 mm headphone port, matte rears, and microSD slot since transferring via SD adapter is way faster than iTunes. I haven't liked iTunes since I first started using it back in 2005. File manager, ftw.
