In the next few weeks, I'm going to switch from WinXP to OS X. Because most of my files are either MS Office related files or JPEG, MPEG, MP3 files, I'm expecting a fairly smooth transition.

I have one question about emails. I have saved every email I received (except for SPAM) since 1999, which has amounted to roughly 10,000 received emails and about 6000 sent emails. They are both saved in Outlook and the file is called something like "inbox.dbx" and "sent.dbx" or something like that. Would I be able to transfer these files to my Mac in Entourage, Mail, or Outlook Express for Mac? I obviously don't have time to forward each email to my new Mac.

Hi riwanami,
When I switched to the Mac, I had the same problem. It's been a while now, but if I remember correctly, I was able to forward all my emails in batches to my Mac. The result was something similar to a mailing list digest, with all of the email in one batch included as an attachment. Scrolling down through the email allowed me to read each one, but opening the attachment allowed me to read the individual email. If you just want to archive your e-mails, that may be what you want to do, otherwise it can be a time consuming process.
