I have a simple choice plan with tmobile and currently have 2 free lines from the black friday promo. I was thinking about switching over to the one plan since its unlimited data for all lines but will my promotional free lines carry over as well or will they make me pay for them?

I think it should stay, but just reconfirm. For example I'm also with Simple Choice with a $10 extra account fee for international calling for all my lines combined and when I asked if I could keep my grandfathered promo they said yes even if I change to TMO One. I however didn't switch because I'm paying ~$132 for 4 lines on Choice and even the rep said I would be over paying with TMO One, so I hope you checked depending on your data usage if it was actually worth switching.

I ended up calling & the rep said I would lose all promotional credits including the ones that are in place for the iphone as well. I'm not sure why they made it so complicated this time to switch over.

They didn't make it complicated. They made it easy. For them. Not for you.

They want current customers to switch to the One plans. Cutting off promotions makes it easy for them.

Thanks for confirming this though. Me and my seven lines will be staying on SC.

Confirmed from another rep. that the iPhone promo shouldn't be affected. Not quite sure what to make of this. Hopefully, someone whose made the switch can let us know.

They definitely make it complicated for the customers. My fiancé and I were asking a store rep about it last night, and it sounds like you get better deals of all lines are ported in from a different carrier. My fiancé is already a T-Mobile customer (Simple Choice and Jump?) while I'm on Verizon. We're looking to combine plans here soon though because his Jump phone plan is coming due next month, and I'm long overdue for an upgrade to my 5.
