I'm currently on a Canadian network with my iPhone 4, but I'm moving to the US for school. Is there a non-CDMA carrier (so no Verizon or Sprint) that I can switch my existing iPhone to, and just add a plan?

I've talked to Virgin and Cricket but their policy states that only iPhones purchased from them directly can be used.

Here is the complete detail of Affordable Carriers in USA besides T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon and Sprint. These Carriers I mentioned in the link below on my thread Operate on AT&T Network and T-Mobile only as they are the two Big GSM (SIM card using) Networks.

Also Do note that your iPhone needs to be UNLOCKED and So far The following Canadian Carriers off Unlocking:

- Telus and Koodo (Policy is very nice as long as you are a member of 60+ days with account in good standing, and a $50 Fee to have it unlocked)

- Rogers and Fido (Policy is quiet difficult but some manage to get by and have their iPhone's unlocked....they require you to finish your contract/pay the ETF and be the original owner of the iPhone to have it unlocked + $50 Fee to have it unlocked)...Rest you may find out by calling them if one of them is your carrier..

NOTE:
- Bell, Virgin and Solo(no more) does not offer unlocking for any of the iPhone models as of yet.
