Sycing Google Calander with Ical

I have a MBP and use google calendar quite frequently . How do I sync them both so i am notified only on iCal please?

When I go to step 5 and it says - Select Google > Continue. Continue isn't showing. I'm running Yosemite so I don't know if its chaned at all.

I used to use iCal years ago (when I used an iPhone), but found it very useful. When I switched to Android, I stopped using the Apple desktop apps.

Do you know if this syncs automatically or is is when I press 'sync' or whatever?
