I actually experience a similar network problem all the time. It's annoying as hell, and I've been using macs for years. My macs just don't recognize each other. If I make an alias of the other computer's HD, then it finds it just fine, but it doesn't see the other computers by default, and that's not Good Computing.

oh really??? is this is a mac&pc network?? or just a mac network.. on my mac network at home i have no problems. when i go to school (all pc's) i dont have problems there either. must be an intermittent issue with certain conditions.

When I switched from Windows to Mac the fonts did look "blurry" to me. It took a couple of weeks to get used to it. Now whenever I go back to Windows, the fonts look really jagged and ugly.

i do notice that wen i use a windows machine the text looks really quite ugly. its almost like you can see the individual pixels that are out of place. then i just go back to osx and find the perfect os again :p

maybe you're not doing it right?

I had problems accessing files on my home PC via the wireless network. The iMac would only sometimes show the PC's shared folders. There's probably a fix for this, but this is something that should work out of the box.

I've always had this; I thought it was just me. I just enter my PC's name in the Go box (smb://computername/share) instead.

Is there any way to make Mac OS X stop being stupid about finding Windows shares? It NEVER detects them for me.

I find Sydney Morning Herald to actually be quite fond of Macs. They're not nearly as anti-Mac as a lot of the media down here. For a start, at least they know what an iMac is.

who the heck reads things in less than 10 pt font size??

Yeah that's what I mean, if it's less that 10 points who would bother it seems kind of redundant with having a 24" iMac and 10 points font size.

But back to my point, I did notice the blurring though.

I have worked with SMH before I personally find their reviewers to be fairly impartial to any product review across the board. They are very good in writing reviews that highlight the products strengths and weakness from a consumer value POV without the usual "we love this brand so we'll be bias".

IMO they still have the best Home Theater and Computer reviews out there, I think they are very partial to Apple because most of them work on them. :apple:
