Anyone using : comfortable with SymLinks + Cloud Storage.

I did it years ago with Dropbox of iCloud. Cannot recall which one it was but we had a issue and lost a folder...
Been using DropBox forever and have just installed OneDrive. Either I'm going to symlink my downloads folder or just use my OneDrive path direct and avoid symlinks altogether/

Not sure what you're trying to do here but, yes, symlinks in Dropbox folders was 'broken" a while back. And probably "broken" in other cloud services.

Apple now requires (iirc) cloud services to use Apple's CloudKit so need to change things up. What I've been doing and works, store files that I want synced to DB in DB and symlink in my Documents folder structure to the DB file(s).

Still a problem if want multiple cloud services to sync same file as can't link to the one true copy within service containers. But then again, guessing that would seem like asking for trouble wrt how often services sync, possibly offloading files that they think they can, etc.

I do have several files in iCloud Drive symlinked to other locations on my Macs. Set it up probably 3 years ago and have never had a problem.

Note the originals are on cloud; links off cloud. Don’t know if that makes a difference or not.
