Need some help guys,

I have a 40gb Apple TV and I stream all of my movies and tv shows a 1TB external hard drive connected to my MacBook.

A take my MacBook to work often and when I do that the kids are left with no movies to watch during the day while I am gone. I am trying to find a solution so that I can take the MacBook to work while still allowing them access to their movies.

I don't have another computer in the house so unfortunately that isn't an option. So my question is, is there a way to sync the kids movies to the Apple TV hard drive and then stream the rest of the movies and tv shows when my MacBook is back home connected to my external hard drive?

Yes. But you only have 40GB. Select your AppleTV and under Movies Select the Movies to Sync. On the Summary page make sure you ONLY Select the Custom (not the show only buttom below it).
