"Sync in Progress" without me hitting sync...

This happens right after I launch iTunes with my phone connected.
Any ideas on what exactly its syncing?

I have iTunes set to manually sync my device.

It is probably updating play counts. My phone is on manual sync too, and will often flash "syncing" after a song updates.

Usually after a song/app/movie/TV show purchase via my 3GS iPhone and immediately upon connection to my MBP or Mac Pro it will "Sync In Progress" automatically; usually pretty quick....😎

Yup, b/c I've got the "Automatically sync when this iPhoe is connected" box unclicked....
