    Hi all

I am going to be getting a new iPhone in a couple of weeks but have a question about syncing this to two machines. basically I will be setting up the iPhone on my macBook at home and will sync iTunes etc with the phone. I then want to be able to sync the iPhone with my work Outlook calendar which is on a PC (I can install software if required) so I can get apppointments and contacts but don't want it to mess up the music etc

Someone has suggested that I could install Missing Sync on the PC which would then allow me to sync with Outlook. Has anyone tried this or got any other suggestions?

THe iPhone will sync with Outlook through iTunes. The problem is, it can only really sync with one computer at a time. When you go to sync it with the second computer, it erases your data and starts fresh.

Are you on Exchange server at work, or standalone Outlook? This makes a difference. There are various work srounds out there for accomplish all this but as far as I'm concerned, none are very elegant.

I sync my home PC via Mobile Me, and my work PC via Exchange. Two separate accounts on the iphone, but I can view all calendars and contacts in one place.

One way to do it is via MobileMe. If you have a MobileMe account, you can install the MM control panel on your Windows computer, which will then sync Outlook to MobileMe, thus keeping the Mac, the PC and the iPhone in sync.

MobileMe would be your best and easiest solution.

thanks guys, the main problem is I can't have access to the exchange server from my own mobile device, and nor can I have access via mobile me - basically it needs to be via a cable plugged into the machine. I can install local software but can't get access via the net

Than you can't sync Outlook anyway if it's running as an Exchange client. You cqan only sync to Outlook when it's in standalone mode.

I too want to sync at home with itunes & at work with outlook

I too want to sync at home with itunes & at work with outlook. At the apple store they told me that I can do this with mobile me but my IT dept will not let me use teh exchange server to do this only a cable to my PC. My palm can do this fine but the high end iphone can't? Are we missing something?
