I can't get 11.4 to sync right on our mac nor windows PC. The result is an expanse of "Other" space and a deletion of "App" space. A restore from backup does not fix it. Only a quick sync from a laptop still using iTunes 11.3.1 seem to restore the space bar graph.
Looks like for this problem I need to wait for iTunes 11.4.1 or 12.

That thread on the Apple forums looks like it's mostly about crashes. The issue that I (and presumably the OP) have had is that it stops sync'ing apps. It might get through 2, it might get through 5, and then it just hangs. I need to unplug the phone, plug it back in, and tell it to resume. With 150 apps, this is a HUGE pain, and it has definitely been delaying the delight of enjoying my new iPhone 6 today. My wife had issues with her iOS8 5S last night, and we did a restore, and she had similar problems there too! And FYI, I'm on Yosemite w/ iTunes 12, and I'm having these same issues. My wife was on Mavericks last night and had the same problems I'm having.

Having the identical issue... Mavericks here... Only thing I can possibly think of is that it's trying to do some sort of auth check against the iTunes Store servers and they're just absolutely hammered right now/today... And agreed - kinda hard to enjoy the new 6 when it's basically 100% virgin and can't get any of my personal content up on it!

sync issues iOS 8 and iTunes 11.4

My problem is that iTunes 11.4 can no longer see my iPhone5s (iOS8.0) when both are on the same network. I have to sync using a cable - which works fine. Anyone else with this issue?

possible solution

This link describes two possible solutions. The first (sync over wifi) worked pretty well for me, although it takes longer to sync.

"Solution 1: SYNC OVER WI-FI. Simply go into devices and see if "Sync with this iPhone over Wi-Fi" is checked off. If it's not, select it and hit apply. After that, restart iTunes and force quit if you have to. Then connect the computer and your iPhone to the same Wi-Fi network and reboot iTunes. (Without your iPhone 6 plugged in via lightning cable!!). Now attempt to sync. It will be slightly slower than directly connecting, but this seems to work OK. It will put all the music, apps and photos onto your new iPhone 6 and you'll be good to go.

Solution 2: DISABLE SYNC OVER WI-FI. If sync over Wi-FI is already checked off, uncheck it and hit Apply. Then restart as in Solution 1. But before you begin syncing by plugging in your lightning cable, turn the phone into Airplane Mode and turn WiFi off. This will make sure it definitely uses the cable and doesn't get confused and hang up. For many people, this little trick seems to work and all the apps will begin being synced."

Yes. Same issue. But interestingly, it can see my iPad 2 running iOS 8. It can't see my Mini on iOS 8. Even though it can "see" the iPad all items are greyed out. I've spoken with apple tech support several times, but no resolve yet. I was waiting for my phone so I could troubleshoot all at the same time before taking the issue up again. For now I'm using the cable.

IOS 8 and Itunes 11.4 sync issue, FIXED

I noticed this problem after I got my new Iphone 6.
I did the following things and it worked for me.

In order for all of the 11.4 components to be replaced, you will need to remove, in addition to /Applications/iTunes.app,

/Library/Frameworks/iTunesLibrary.framework
/System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Library/MobileDevices.bun dle
/System/Library/Extensions/AppleMobileDevice.kext
/System/Library/Extensions/AppleUSBEthernetHost.kext
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/AirTrafficHost.framework
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/CoreFP.framework
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/DeviceLink.framework
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/iTunesAccess.framework
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileDevice.framework

I was able to sync again.

Have had huge issues today with both my iPad 3 and my wifes iPad 2. Or though to be honest had it on IOS7 with previous version of itunes. For last couple of months when connecting iPad to iTunes would have to keep rechecking and resyncing all my photos. Plus have had issues with my iPod Touch where certain transferred music appears on "on my ipod" greyed out with circle next to it. most of todays Ipad issues have bee around itunes hanging for ages waiting for sync to start or apps to sync, etc. Who'd have thought getting files from one device to another had to be so complicated! Also have a feeling iCloud has a lot to blame so at moment have signed out on all my devices

Have you tried creating a new backup using iTunes and a wired connection?

Once you confirm the backup, then you might want to try restoring the phone to factory settings. Afterwards, you can then restore from the backup.

Just got an iPhone 6 and have had weird sync issues since I got it earlier. It would run through the first six steps just fine but would just hang on step 7, "Syncing Artwork to iPhone". Recently backed up iPhone 5s on same computer and it was fine.

Anybody else experience this?

Confirmed working: Clean Install....

I noticed this problem after I got my new Iphone 6.

/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/AirTrafficHost.framework
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/CoreFP.framework
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/DeviceLink.framework
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/iTunesAccess.framework
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileDevice.framework

I was able to sync again.

This fix above plus the redownload and install of iTunes 11.4 worked for me. As a side, I did not have a /System/Library/Extensions/AppleMobileDevice.kext to delete. Maybe this was the issue?

For the tech folks, I am running an iPhone 4 and iPad 2 both with iOS 7.1.2 on them, now syncing properly with iTunes 11.4 (18).

So, do the manual deletion of the files above for good measure, and then hop over here to get the download: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6535499

Cheers!

Ned

Warning. Don't follow those steps above they will hose your system. Once recovered the problem still persists. Apple has admitted they have a sync issue. Wait for their correction.

Where do I go to do this? I get an error message at times telling me that the "Ethernet one" isn't installed properly. Where do I delete these and start again? Thanks in advance!

For whatever it is worth, sometimes it seems like these issues (where it hangs a few apps into sync) can be caused by a bad cable connection. After futzing with it for hours, rebooting this and that, deleting iTunes' cache, etc., I finally swapped out my cable with a different one and voila - problem fixed.

Iphotos on imac won't transfer to iphone 6

I hope you figured out your issue but if not...I've had the same issue and found I needed to go to the App Store on my iPhone 6 and under updates you hit the download cloud. Make sure you hit the button at the top for all your purchased apps and download those also. I was so happy to figure that out!

My issue is that I can't download my iPhotos from my iMac to my iPhone 6 . It says, "iTunes cannot sync photos to the iPhone 6 because your iPhoto Library is not yet available. Please try again later." How do you make it available? I have mavericks and have tried all kinds of interventions. Someone please help! Thanks in advance.

I haven't been able to WiFi sync my 6+ to my iMac, they wouldn't see each other 95% of the time. For a brief moment the iPhone symbol would show in iTunes. Also could not sync music even when plugged in. iTunes would just hang on wait for items to copy, Apps synced fine with Match turned on, on the phone. I tried all of the fixes here nothing worked. I have a DSL modem with a new version Time Capsule that I use as my wireless router. Cycled power on everything, turned firewalls off/on. What finally fixed it was moving my iMac ethernet cable from the DSL router to the TC. I have run the old configuration since my iPhone 5. WiFi sync, plugged in sync both working now. Odd thing was handoff, making calls, iMessage were working fine with the old config.

Interesting fix. My problem is wifi sync between my iOS devices (IP6, iPad2) and MBP all on the same wifi network. If I reboot the iOS devices they show up in iTunes on the MBP for a while. Then disappear.

Simple solution

Looking at some other discussions, I came across one solution that stopped a chain. Simply re-install iTunes 11.4

http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1614?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

Before I did this, I checked the versions both 11.4 (18) but after I reinstalled it, I notices the 64 bit label (can't be certain it was not there before).

my work around before was to gradually build the library on my new iPhone with about 10 artists at a time but came to a sudden halt when I had used about 45-50% are the phones storage

Anyway, I am trying this at the moment and will update the forum on the results. My one remaining issue is the large block of "Other" 27GB which was very small before I performed one of the syncs.

PS. I do not believe the "Duplicates" story I have seen as I did perform a sync that included duplicates (not from the same album).
