Sync issues with iPhone 3G

It just started recently but syncing is taking abnormally long, instead of telling me what's going on. It is stuck on the Syncing "Phone Name" bar without any visible progress. I have no synced my phone since 9.0 came out, is it just my phone acclimating to 9.0 or a problem?
