Hi all,
I"m trying to sync my iTunes library between two user accounts on my MacPro. Currently, the library is being stored on my secondary hard drive. Both accounts are able to see that same folder and playback and save to it but if I modify the library in one user it doesn't affect both of them.

Is there a way for me to sync them so that the playlists and other changes like when I add new songs match up?

ALso, is there any good way to sync not only between these two drives but also with my macbook either via network or over the internet.

Move the whole iTunes folder elsewhere on the hard drive where both accounts can see it. You will have to tweak iTunes a bit to see it, but then you have one library, usable by both accounts, rather than just by one.

- Quit iTunes
- Copy the iTunes folder (From ~/Music/iTunes) to the new location.
- Relaunch iTunes, holding the option key. Tell it you want to select a different library, and select the new location you moved the iTunes folder to.
- Open the iTunes preferences, and make sure that under Preferences > Advanced, that the "iTunes Music folder location" option points to the new location (It should usually end in 'iTunes Music').

Do the same on the second account (minus the copy/move step), and you should be good.

(WARNING: This is tricky, so you will want to be careful so you don't accidentally do something bad and lose your data, I would backup before attempting this if this sounds hard to do)

Mac to PC?

Is there any way I can sync my desktop computer's (running XP) Itunes library to my Macbook Pro's Itunes Library? My desktop is being used as the server for all our media. I can easily access the files and open with no problems. What I'm looking for is when I add files to my library on the desktop, my library will automatically update on the laptop so I don't have to keep track of it manually.
