I used disc util to non destructively resize my osx partition

I then rebooted and everythings OK.

Then i rebooted into windows to check thats working

All ok.

I created a 17gb FAT32 partition called "shared" only without thinking i did it while i was in windows

Problem i have is my MBR copy of the partition table shows the partition, i can access it in windows just fine. (i've not saved anything to it yet)

But the GPT partition table doesn't have the partition data in it so it thinks that area of the disc is unpartitioned so OSX doesn't show it.

is there Anyway can i Update my GPT partition table from the data in my MBR so that osx can see that partition.

i am in the same situation on my imac - the MBR is correct and the GPT is all out of whack...

rEFIt has a utility that can update my MBR to look like my GPT but the MBR is accurate in my case and I need it to go the opposite way so that I can see my NTFS partition from os x (or eventually use boot camp to restore my drive to one).

this guy did some manual messing around with the gpt table, but i'm a little wary of doing it that way. plus, i'm not sure what exactly the original state looked like after i first used boot camp.

anyone have any ideas?
