Sync phone contacts on iPhone and iPad

hey guys

I eventually got iMessage to work on both devices and big devices show messages however only my iPhone shows the name. Is there a way for the iPad to also show the name rather than the number?

Ok so what I did was turn both the contacts on/off again in the iCloud settings. A pop up then popped up and said merge contacts to which I agreed and it seems to have worked now
