Sync with Google contacts disappeared?

Maybe I'm just missing something but Google contacts don't appear as an option in the Mail, Contacts & Calendars preferences pane, nor does it show up in the Address Book preferences.

Personally I'm hoping for a better solution. The "Synchronize with Google" tick box has always been a bit shaky for me... it might be up to Google to implement CardDAV though.
 
It is not working for me. It is telling me my MobileMe name or password is incorrect, but I only have Google checked.
