Syncing between Mac and iPad

I have a PDF document which i work on by annotating it, on my mac.

Then, when I move around, I use my iPad and although I have the PDF on that too, it doesn't have the annotations i made on the mac.

Is there a way for synchronization for these PDF files so everything is always up to date between these PDF files, regardless if I am using the Mac or iPad?

I thought of using iCloud but I don't think that syncs PDF files. Correct me if I am wrong.

I'd like to use the PDF file in GoodReader on the iPad. If I use DB, I would have to keep transferring it everytime I update it.

Is there a more integral solution?
