Syncing calendar on 2 iphones

I've been trying to sync the calendars on my 4s and my wife's 5, but I'm having an issue that I can't figure out.

I followed the steps in iCloud to create a shared calendar. When a add an event the calendar on my 4s is pops up fine on my wife's 5. But, when I add an event on my wife's 5, it doesn't come up on my phone or on the calendar in her iCloud account. Even more strange, when I add an event on the calendar in her iCloud account, it comes up on my 4s but not her 5.

Is there a setting that I'm missing? Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

I assume you have shared your calendar with her, have you shared her calendar with you?

I believe I have. It seems the issue is that her calendar isn't syncing with iCloud...but I'm not sure.

Make sure that her default calendar is set to her iCloud calendar.

Yup, I think that was it!!! Seems to be working fine now.
