Syncing Gmail contacts

I was successful in using the Exchange mail option to setup my Gmail account on my iPhone 4S. I am able to sync my calendar, mail and contacts. But for some reason after trying to do the same steps on my iPad 2 I am getting this error, and I cant sync anything from my Gmail account, not even my emails.

Any suggestions?

You probably can't set it up that way. Search the forums for more info. Many threads.

Starting I believe in January Google no longer allows new iOS devices to use Exchange. You are going to use IMAP/CalDAV/CardDAV.
