I have an IMac and want to get an Apple notebook and add it to my network. The only issue that I see is that if I make a change on my IMac or my notebook on the same file, it might get overwritten.

Is there any way to keep both perfectly synced when they are my home network?

Thanks in advance!

I share your curiosity.

I've always thought that the MacBook Air would make an excellent ultra-portable/iPod-like device. I currently own an iMac and would love to purchase a MacBook Air for use on the go. I think it'd be pretty handy to sync my MBA like an iPod in iTunes so that I'm only carrying the media content I want rather than all of it. In addition, I'd like the two computers to remain in sync with regard to documents; ensuring that both computers always have the most recent version of my files.

I have over 500GB of media on an external drive connected to my iMac. When hopping on a plane, I'd love to take with me only a few movies to watch while on the go...In addition to my music collection and up-to-date documents.
