All of a sudden my texts are not syncing between iPhone and MacBook Pro. I thought Apple preferences had an iCloud icon there but it doesn't. I, of course, don't know what I did to screw this up as this has been working since I've had this MBP. There are iCloud parameters for backups on the iPhone and I can select iCloud.

When I looked up the problem it said iCloud had to be enabled on both devices. So, how do I enable on the MBP?

Settings > Apple ID and sign-in. Then launch Messages and menu Messages > Settings > iMessage > Settings tab > Check "Enable Messages in iCloud".

If all of this is already done, see if Settings > iCloud > iCloud Drive > Apps syncing to iCloud Drive > Messages is enabled.

Thank you. It has been working forever and I wanted to stop saving msgs to iCloud as there were just too many taking up space. If you delete them there they delete on your next sync so I turned it off on my iPhone. I think I just needed to uncheck save messages but I was paranoid to lose all the photos in my msgs. I've been cleaning up my files to move to a new MacBook. I have found lots of things I didn't know about. Like this! And the system data has nothing to do with running the system. (I think) and I can't get to it on Monetary. I did find a video that showed me a work around but that was a huge problem till I found it. You can do that one next upgrade level but it is not available for my MacBook due to it's age. They allow you into the system file that resides on you hard drive eating up all the space you could be using. I could have purchased Clean up my Mac but not at the end of it's life. Thank you so very much for you help!
