Syncing iPhone with Airport Extreme

Is it possible to sync an iphone by plugging the USB cable into an Airport Extreme ?

I've tried but no joy.

I think you've answered your own question - it won't work! You can only sync by plugging into a mac or PC

Yeah, I was just hoping some clever soul out there would have a work around...

You can't do it at the moment - but Apple have said that in iOS5 they will allow wireless syncing - over WiFi.
