Hi guys, I'm just curious if anyone has any tips. I'm making a montage video in iMovie '06...I've done various minor projects and know my way around the interface, but I'm hardly an advanced user.

I'd like to keep certain clips lined up over certain parts of the music, but as I edit the older clips and change their length/add new ones in between them, they fall out of sync as the video clips get pushed over.

How do people usually handle syncing music with video in iMovie?

Thanks for any help.

You really cannot edit old parts of the video without throwing the audio parts off. You just have to get your video the way you want it AND THEN sync up your audio.

I wished there was an easy way, but I never found it.

Editing videos to music is a LOT easier with an NLE that supports multiple video layers (which iMovie isn't). This way, you can stack clips and adjust their durations without affecting other clips residing on different layers. You might want to consider upgrading to Final Cut Express.
