Syncing with new iTunes break jailbreak?

I got a mac a few weeks ago. I'm still using my laptop though to add music to my phone. When I try to add songs from the mac, it wants to erase and sync with the new itunes - which is understandable.

I'm not sure how much it is going to erase. Just music? Is it going to format my phone? Will it break my jailbreak?

Syncing will not remove your JB. Only when you update / restore the firmware does that happen. You will just loose music, apps, movies, contacts and so on.
