System Preferences Panel almost blank

Hi there,

a friend of mine has MBP M3 with macOS 26.6.2 on it. All of a sudden he can't use his System Preferences any more. Apart from Spolight everything else has vanished. He's updated to 26.6.2, removed com.apple.systempreferences.plist. No effect. Any idea aport from a fresh install?

The search results in System Settings are managed by Spotlight. Rebuilding the index for Macintosh HD might help.
